UNIVERSITY QUICK TOUR

Many activities at the university are centered at ensuring our students receive the best training we can offer.
The idea of an institution for higher learning in Galmudug, goes back to 2014 when Somali intellectuals drew up a plan for the establishment of Hanano Medical Training College (HMTC). By 2019, this plan had grown into a national concept, aimed at providing higher technical education for the state of Galmudug. HMTC officially changed its name to Hanano University of Science and Technology (HUST) on 1st September 2019, after thorough discussion among intellectuals, scholars, and community elders, who recommended the expansion of the university offerings, to cover more higher learning courses, to cover the needs of the community.
The university currently takes in Students from Galmudug area as priority, with a vision to empower the locals to gain essential knowledge on areas that are in dire need of attention in the larger Somalia. These include Public health, Medicine and Laboratory technologists.
Our curriculum is similar to what is being offered in all other universities globally, we add a mandatory industrial placement to ensure that our students can apply what they are being taught in practise.
The tuition cost varies from the different courses taken, and the units exempted. If a student is exempted from some subjects, the tuition fees will be lower. The university accepts sponsored students, and payment arrangement will be agreed upon admitting the student.
